Introduction

Europa Awards is envisioned as a yearly event that culminates with a gala dinner and an award ceremony held in November.

The Europa Awards gala dinner and award ceremony will be organized and positioned as a high profile event with approximately 600 participating guests and with a strong and relevant entertainment component.

This year, Europa Awards for Sustainability 2018 will have an entertainment component in the context of social responsibility, to reinforce our sustainability initiative. Further details will be shared soon!

Mission & Objectives

This programme aims to identify, qualify and promote business excellence in Malaysia from companies that have demonstrated extraordinary performance in the field of sustainability to the long term benefit of Malaysian society and economy and in line with EU sustainable development values.

Key role
To give independence, credibility and authoritative standing to the initiative.

Tasks
Devising the award categories and evaluation criteria.
Providing skills and manpower to carry out the evaluation of shortlisted award candidate companies and nominate the winners.

Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)

Key role
To further the international, multi-stakeholder approach of the awards and provide technical expertise on the topic of Sustainable Palm Oil.

Tasks
To serve as a soundboard to EUMCCI matters related to the sustainable palm oil award category and its evaluation criteria.

EU Delegation in Malaysia

Key role
This programme has received the patronage of the EU Delegation to Malaysia in the person of H.E. Maria Castillo Fernandez, EU Ambassador and Head of Delegation to Malaysia.

Tasks
Europa Awards will endeavour to portray the image of a strong and united EU and it will strengthen the image of EU as strategic partner to Malaysia to further expand Malaysia economy whilst providing essential business benchmarks on sustainability.

EU Bilateral Chambers

Key role
Contribute to the execution of the programme.

Tasks
Expose Europa Awards to a large number of companies by tapping into the large networks of the EU Chambers in Malaysia.

MATRADE

Key role
Maximize the inclusion of Malaysian companies.

Tasks
Expose Europa Awards to Malaysian companies. Identify Malaysian companies championing sustainability values and code of conduct meanwhile seeking to strengthen the affiliation to the EU.
Promote the participation to Europa Awards.
